“The Everyday Universe” by Ashley Hope

UNO-St. Claude Gallery to exhibit “The Everyday Universe,” a MFA Thesis exhibition of Ashley Hope

We are extremely pleased to announce an exhibition MFA thesis work by artist, Ashley Hope. The show, titled “The Everyday Universe,” will explore photography as an act of seeing and framing. Hope seeks to create a playful tension in her images through the use of familiar materials and surfaces. Through her work Hope explores themes of domestic life, the relationship between representation and physical reality and the abiding fallacy of the inherent truth of photography.

The gallery, located at 2429 St. Claude Ave., will host an opening reception on Saturday, March 10, from 6-9 p.m.  The exhibition will run from March 10 -April 7, 2018. Regular gallery hours are Sat-Sun, 12-5 p.m.  Please direct any inquiries to Tony Campbell via email at Tonycampbellgas@gmail.com or call the gallery during open hours at 504.948.6939.
